Trieste Branch

The activities of the Italian branch of NLB - Nova Ljubljanska banka d.d., Ljubljana, which is the major bank in Slovenia, focus on financial services designed for Italian companies which work with Slovenia and Central and South-East Europe.

In Italy, NLB provides both services to support import-export operations, investment and joint-ventures and all the traditional types of lending costomary on the Italian market.
The bank's activities are mainly directed to Italian companies which have relations with Slovenia, but also with Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia (FYROM), Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, the Czech Republic, Hungary and other countries in central Europe.

The strengths of NLB's Trieste branch are: fast and expert service for the main types of banking products and in-depth knowledge of the companies and the economic and political situation of this area.

NLB has gained a key role among Italian, Slovenian and all South-East European economic and financial operators who have found the Italian branch of NLB to be a competent and reliable partner.

The bank has been operating in Italy since 1979. A full branch was established in 1991 - and to date it is the only branch of a Central European bank in Italy - in order to keep pace with the growing trade between Italy and Slovenia.

The Italian branch is located in Trieste, a city which is in a strategic position for its clientele. Much of the trade between Italy and Slovenia is in fact carried out in North-East Italy (in the regions of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige) with the remainder being carried out mainly in Lombardy, Piedmont and Emilia Romagna, or in other regions of Italy.
